Immerse yourself in the timeless art of basketry on this full day course.
Create your own asymmetrical basket with a whittled hazel handle.
Working with various varieties of sustainably harvested willow, choose from a range of earthy tones to design your own unique basket.
Over the day you will learn a variety of techniques including a pairing weave, 3-rod wale and French rand.
This course is suitable for beginners and for those wishing to learn new weaving techniques.
This workshop is held at the WeaveKNITit studio above the shop at Cromford Mills, at the UNESCO world heritage site at Cromford. Please note there are some stairs as it’s on the first floor but toilets are on the same floor. Hot drinks provided throughout the day but please bring a packed lunch or use one of the cafes on site.
