Make a Footstool workshop

£120.00

The aim of the class is to provide an introduction to the basics of upholstery. All that you learn is transferable to more complex tasks, such as upholstering a dining or armchair, if you would like to pursue things further. The class is good fun, rewarding and everyone is going to be leaving the session with a fantastic footstool of their own making at a fraction of what you could pay in a high street store.

All the materials are provided in the cost of the course fee except the top fabric, which I suggest you source yourself. I will bring some stock fabrics, velvets, but please make your own choice, to suit your home decor, buying upholstery grade fabric that is fire retardant.

Students will learn how to use a variety of hand tools and staple guns to complete the task. Health and safety is of great importance and the session will commence with some guidance about using sharp tools and staplers.

The session will begin at 10.00 and there will be a lunch break of 45 mins around 1230/1.00pm. The session finishes at 16.30. You will need to bring a pack lunch or use one of the cafes on site (discount voucher available) You are welcome to make tea/coffee during the day as you wish.

Workshop is led by Peter Redman of Four legs wood.
